my friend was just not getting it, so I did all this to visually explain. figured I’d share for anyone else confused. 

he deliberately made jawn stand behind that building, told him several times to stay where he was and keep his eyes on him. The sniper would have been trained on john not sherlock so it wouldve made it easy to fall into the truck, toss a body out and then wrap up and have the truck drive off while whoever the people were (even if they werent the homeless network, they would’ve taken the body into the hospital where molly could do her thang) scraped him off the sidewalk.

I still don’t know how the other snipers knew not to shoot, but whatever. 

Yeah, the snipers bit also bothers me but this theory is sound. Guess who is driving the truck by the way? My theory is that it’s Mycroft behind the wheel himself because it would make so much sense and also would be a beautiful nod to canon.

Faking death in such a believable way Sherlock needed not just Molly’s help. He needed Mycroft too. This is why Mycroft reacts the way he reacts in Diogenes. I of course need to watch again to make more sound analysis.

All of the above, I agree, I’m sure the truck is part of the trick.
Edit: But I think it was Sherlock on the ground, covered in blood, with the rubber ball blocking his pulse.

the ball is a cool idea but I don’t think so: he didn’t have the time to do all of this! And what would have Molly done, then? 
It’s a replica, look at the blood dripping on his face. The timing was way too short. Sherlock is in the truck! 

I think Sherlock fell in the truck as a safety net and rolled out/got out of it covered in whatever blood he managed to get. Timing is relative, don’t forget we see this from John’s POV as soon as Sherlock jumped, we’re meant to be confused just as well. There is some clever time editing in that sequence.
Molly is the medical examiner, on top of helping him to plan this, she’s the one declaring him dead for the rest of the world.

I think the dead body isn’t Sherlock at all.
Remember the little girl screaming when she sees Sherlock ? I believe Moriarty had someone made surgery to look exactly like Sherlock & somehow, Sherlock found him & used him to fake his death.
